Very accomplished amateur boxer, "Slick" Nick Kisner has his professional debut tonight at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore!  Nick faces stiff competition in his professional debut in opponent, Glenn Williams (6-4-1).  I have never seen anyone in the Baltimore-Washington area face such an experienced opponent in a debut performance.

Good luck, Nick!

Keeping Healthy Employees

Business Week writes an article on how we can decrease health care costs in this country.

I disagree with much of the article.  But there is one thing we all can agree upon: healthy employees make better employees and investments in wellness and physical health pay dividends.

Employee Wellness Programs

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that employers are not holding back on investing in health and wellness plans for its employees.

Why is health and wellness for employees apparently recession proof?  Did you renew your health insurance this year?  Most companies - including Club One Fitness as of last month are spending more and more (and more) on health related costs.  Employers are starting to look at the big picture and invest more in the health of their employees.

At Club One, we are in a huge office complex right off of Route 97 on Benfield Road.  Let's be honest: the recession has not been good to us.  But more and more companies are getting their employees and paying for or subsidizing their health club memberships.  This is a great development for us and a great development for keeping employee costs down by having healthier employees.
