Using Our Stability Balls at Club One Fitness in Severna Park

There sure are a lot of stability balls bouncing around Club One Fitness . What can you/should you do with them?

First, pick the correct ball. We have a few different sizes. It is important to choose the proper ball for your height. Generally speaking, the middle sized balls, which are usually red (55 cm) work best for most of us. If you are under 5'4, go for the smaller ball; if you are over 6'0, the big ball, usually green, is probably a better play for you.

These balls are most commonly used for abdominal workouts. By having to balance your body on top of the ball, thus the name "stability", you can achieve a great workout of all the abdominal muscles.

To begin, sit on the ball and gently laid back while walking your feet forward so that your upper back/shoulders are resting on the ball. Do 25 crunches with your hands behind your head gently lifting up while balancing your body on the ball. For an added challenge, move your feet closer together and do 25 more!
