Choosing the Right Arch Height for Your Running Shoes
Fall is almost here and it is time to start running hard again for those of us that run. The Final Sprint has a good post today on the arch height of running shoes.
For me, if my arch height is off, I'm going to have foot pain fast. This article explains how to chose the right height and also explains the idea of pronation which is my problem. I land on the outside bottom of my foot and roll inward. So if you are looking to start running again or for the first time, check out this post and pick the right shoes for you.
One last piece of advice I have learned the hard way: you have at most 300 miles on a given pair of shoes. If you keep running on your shoes beyond this point, and some would argue the number is as low as 150 miles, you are inviting injury. I suggest keeping a running log to assist you in knowing when it's time for a new pair.
