At the beginning of November, Club One Fitness welcomed several new personal trainers to our personal training team! Wille Baker, Jeff Turner, Susan Campana, Adrienne Roberson, Bob Magersupp, Jim Pittman, and Tina McDermott! Wille Baker is doing personal training, Muay Thai, Shorin-Ryu karate, as well as a women's conditioning program! He is already starting to gear up for his bootcamp programs that will start after the first of the year! Susan and Adrienne are both teaching classes as well as personal training. Zumba is Adrienne's forte and Susan is leading a total body workout called Body Blast! Jeff has already offered a free nutrition lecture to all members and another one will be coming soon. Tina is leading her Total Body Bootcamp Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30a.m. as well as personal training. So, you are invited to come in and take a new class, try a new program, or start training with one of the new trainers!

Inspired by the popular TV show, The Biggest Loser, we held our first Be a Loser challenge with fantastic results! All of the eighteen participants lost weight with an average weight loss of 10 pounds per person! The Be a Loser challenge consisted of three meetings with a trainer each week...the workout of the week, the last chance workout and then the weigh-in and team versus team challenge. The Red Team dominated the weigh-ins in the beginning, while the Black Team dominated the challenges. The Black team made a major comeback and wound up winning the competition with an overall weight loss of 4.9% while the Red Team finished with a 4.7% for overall weight loss.
The second cycle of our Be a Loser challenge will begin on Monday, April 4th with more people dropping unwanted pounds just in time for the summer! If you would like more information about losing weight in a healthy and motivating environment, give us a call and join the challenge!

Congratulations to Mike Strutz and Dave McKenzie for winning the Maryland Bodybuilding competition! Mike is officially Mr. Maryland, winning the entire competition! Mike was also the official winner of the East Coast Classic in the heavyweight division as well as the overall winner of the competition! Dave is the novice light heavyweight champion for the Maryland State competition as well as for the East Coast Classic competition! Way to go, Mike and Dave (who also train togetherJ)!

Welcome Coach Bill Alexander to our coaching staff! Bill will be leading our Monday boxing classes (Boxing for Kids, Boxing for Fitness and Boxing 101) beginning Monday, September 14th! Bill has a lot of experience in mixed martial arts and boxing and is pursuing a certification in Muay Thai!
